Carey service station robbed

CAREY — Carey police are continuing to investigate a robbery Saturday at the Shell gas station on the southern edge of the village, near the U.S. 23/Ohio 15 interchange.
The holdup occurred at 12:49 p.m. when a young male entered the business, presented a threatening note to a cashier and demanded money. No weapon was observed and the amount of money taken was unknown Monday.
The suspect ran from the business and got into a dark-colored vehicle waiting in an adjacent parking lot. The vehicle was seen heading south on South Vance Street near the highway interchange.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-6-inches to 5-foot-8, about 140-150 pounds, clean shaven and wearing a Nike-brand hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, dark pants and dark running-style shoes.
A surveillance camera photo of the suspect is posted on the Carey Police Department’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information should contact the department in the municipal building, or call 419-396-7678.
