Mother charged with leaving children alone for 4-5 days

A Fostoria woman is facing two counts of child endangerment after allegedly leaving her young children home alone for nearly five days.
Police said Jacqueline M. Gibson, 38, of 1207 B Peeler Drive, was arrested Monday for two counts of child endangerment, a first-degree misdemeanor, for allegedly abandoning her two 11-year-old children for four to five days in December.
Fostoria Police Capt. Patrick Brooks said Officer Trey Farabee investigated the case shortly before Christmas and discovered the two children were staying at their home without their mother.
Brooks said the children were placed in the care of grandparents, who discovered Gibson left the residence because she was mad at the children.
Gibson is being held on a $10,000 bond with 10 percent allowed.
She is scheduled for arraignment at 9 a.m. today in Fostoria Municipal Court.
