Fostorian sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual assaults

A Fostoria man was sentenced Friday to two decades in prison for sexually assaulting a minor.
Shawn E. Hunt, 39, of 654 Maple St., entered guilty pleas Friday to three counts of rape, three counts of sexual battery, two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, and one count of voyeurism.
Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Steve Shuff sentenced Hunt to 20 years in prison and classified him as a Tier III sexual offender, according to Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine.
“Detective Frankart from Fostoria Police Department did an excellent job working this case,” DeVine said. “The city of Fostoria and all of Seneca County is safer as a result of his work on the case.”
The charges against Hunt stem from allegations of repeated sexual assaults that occurred in Fostoria against a minor victim in 2011 and 2012.
When Hunt is released from prison, his Tier III sex-offender classification mandates reporting and notification requirements for the rest of his life.
