The Christian Clearing House, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income families and people in crisis with emergency financial aid, will hold a community garage sale at Brinkman’s Country Corner greenhouse, 1800 E. Sandusky St., on Saturday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, March 16, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is the 10th year for the sale.
A large variety of items will be available, including electronics, furniture, collectable items, home decor, sporting goods, books, household items, clothing for all ages, toys and baby items.
Lunch will be available on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brinkman’s will be grilling whole hog sausage sandwiches and hamburgers.
CCH has added the capability of credit card use for the event. Cash and checks are also accepted.
This year the agency will hold a 50/50 raffle.
Funds raised from the sale will benefit programs and services for low-income individuals in Hancock County. In 2013, CCH helped or referred more than 12,000 Hancock County individuals with emergency needs. Utility and food requests continue to be the biggest area of need. The agency also helps with housing, medication, dental emergencies, and many miscellaneous needs that other agencies are not equipped to assist with.
Donations for the sale may be dropped off at the greenhouse on Saturday, March 8, and the week prior to the sale, March 10 through March 13. Large items may be picked up by calling the office prior to the sale to arrange pickup. Items must be in good and/or working condition. Tax deductible forms will be available.
