Five injured in Alger crash

ALGER — A two-vehicle crash injured five people at 5:33 p.m. Friday in Alger, Hardin County, the Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol reported.
Robert T. Stevens, 68, of Lima, was driving a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van west on Shadley Street when he ran a stop sign at Front Street and collided with a southbound 2004 Lincoln Town Car driven by Marion Gross Jr., 72, of Alger, the patrol said.
All of the injured were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital.
Stevens and Gross both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said Angela R. Roby, 41, of Ada, a passenger in the Gross vehicle, suffered serious injuries. Tammy Elwood, 49, of Ada, and Stacey Gross, 47, of Grove City, also passengers in the Gross car, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
Both vehicles sustained serious damage and were towed, the patrol reported.
The patrol was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Alger Emergency Medical Service and Fire, Ada Emergency Medical Service and Lowery’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
