Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 9:27 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 224, east of Hancock County 248 in Biglick Township, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Rick Aurand, 59, of Findlay, was traveling east on U.S. 224 in a 2003 Honda sport utility vehicle when he lost control on the icy roadway, the sheriff’s office said. The Honda went left of center and collided with a westbound 2011 Ford sport utility vehicle driven by Goldie Ruehle, 60, of McCutchenville, the sheriff’s office said.
The collision caused the Honda to spin and strike a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer that was parked, unattended, on the north side of U.S. 224 after becoming stuck in a ditch earlier.
Both drivers were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance, the sheriff’s office said.
Aurand was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
The vehicles were towed by Mac & Bob’s Towing and Dick’s Towing. Washington Township Fire Department assisted at the crash scene.
