County commissioners expected to OK annexation

Hancock County’s commissioners are expected to vote Tuesday to approve the annexation of 276 acres from Marion Township to Findlay.
A petition seeking the annexation was delivered to the commissioners’ office this week.
The annexation would include land bordered by East Bigelow Avenue, Crystal Avenue, and County 212 on Findlay’s northeast side.
The property is owned by George H. and Camille A. Ranzau, 6144 Hancock County 18, Findlay, and William Jaqua, 1717 Windsor Place, Findlay.
The City of Findlay and Marion Township have already approved a revenue-sharing agreement for the property. Under the agreement, the city will pay Marion Township 1.5 mills in taxes from the assessed value of the property for 10 years.
The commissioners will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in their first-floor meeting room at 514 S. Main St.
