The Gliding Stars of Findlay will host their 13th annual ice show, “Let’s go to the Movies,” Sunday, March 16 at the Cube in Findlay. The program begins at 2:30 p.m.
The show will include music from iconic films such as “The Hand Jive” from “Grease,” “Eye of the Tiger” from “Rocky,” “Hakuna Matata” from “The Lion King” and more.
Gliding Stars is an adaptive ice skating program that came to Findlay in November 2000. The program uses adaptive equipment such as walkers and modified skates to help individuals with special needs, the stars, have the opportunity to skate. The stars participate in weekly lessons and are paired up with trained volunteers under the direction of skating instructors.
The ice show will feature 58 stars from Hancock County and the surrounding area.
Ticket prices are $5 for children 10 and under, and adult tickets are $10.
At the ice show there will be a raffle offering nine movie-themed baskets, all valued over $700. There is a Wild Hogs Craftsman Basket with a Harley-Davidson tool chest, a Julie & Julia Kitchen Creations basket with a KitchenAid mixer, “A League of their Own” Sports Spectacular basket, an “Eat Pray Love” dining out basket and five more baskets. Tickets for the baskets are six for $5. You do not need to be present to win.
