Former title insurance agent sentenced for stealing funds

A former title insurance agent from Findlay was sentenced for stealing $73,000 from her employer.
Charity A. Hensley, 41, was sentenced this week in Hancock County Common Pleas Court to five years of community control sanctions, 60 days in jail, and restitution of $16,000, according to the state Department of Insurance.
Findlay police determined that between June 2009 and June 2013, Hensley stole $73,000 from Golden Key Title Agency’s operating account.
Hensley also pleaded guilty to forging a Golden Key Title Agency check on June 15 from an account with the First Federal Bank of the Midwest in Defiance. The check was written for $2,567, according to a bill of information.
Hensley pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony charge of grand theft and a fifth-degree felony count of forgery.
She has been forced to surrender her insurance license, according to the state.
