MOUNT BLANCHARD — Firefighters were called to separate fires at two Delaware Township homes Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.
The Delaware Township Fire Department responded to a chimney fire at 3:45 p.m. Sunday to 21151 Hancock County 183, south of Ohio 103 near Mount Blanchard.
Light damage was reported to the home of Greg Clark, according to Fire Chief Dave Rodabaugh. Damage was reported in the garage and an attic over the garage.
Residents were not displaced from the home, and no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
A fire in the wood stove in the basement apparently reached a wall between the garage and the house. The house was insured.
Mutual aid was provided by the Arlington Fire Department.
Firefighters were clear of the scene by 5:35 p.m. Sunday.
The Arlington Fire Department was dispatched to a second chimney fire at 4:46 p.m. Sunday at 14446 Delaware Township 152 near Mount Blanchard.
The house sustained minor damage while construction debris reportedly was being burned in a basement stove, according to fire officials. Apparently, there was a crack in the chimney.
The home, just purchased at a sheriff’s auction, was not insured.
No injuries were reported, Arlington officials said.
Additional details on the second fire were unavailable Sunday night.
The Delaware Fire Department provided assistance.
