Weekend: 50 years of Findlay High

Findlay High School is turning 50.
The school is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The first class to graduate from the school was in 1964.
There will be a series of celebration events beginning Thursday, April 10, at 8 p.m. with a basketball game between Findlay school teachers and Toledo TV Channel 13 News Team.
Admission is a monetary donation with proceeds going to the Clothe-A-Child Program.
Some members of the Channel 13 team scheduled to appear are: Lee Conklin, Jay Berschback, Jeff Smith, Ben Cathey and Ross Ellet. For Findlay, staff members scheduled to appear are Nate Weihrauch, Jim Rucki, Mike Leddy, Ryan Imke, Ray Elbin, Mark Ritzler and others.
On Saturday, April 12, there will be an open house in the FHS cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Memorabilia will be on display as well as old yearbooks for sale, entertainment, former teachers, refreshments and more.
Stop on by Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. for the annual Alumni Musical Showcase featuring the award-winning Findlay First Edition showchoir, vocalists Tim Sherman (FHS 2011 grad) and Ashley (Willford) Carey (FHS 1998 grad). The distinguished alumni award for 2014 will be presented to Cliff Hite.
All seats are $5. Tickets may be purchased from the Arts Partnership and Groman’s Music.
