Meeting slated this week on public transit plan

A public meeting about Hancock County’s “public transit-human services transportation plan” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Family Center, 1800 N. Blanchard St.

Members of the public can offer views of public transit needs.

The meeting’s discussion will focus on the county’s current plan, unmet needs, coordination efforts, and the process for developing a new plan.

Projects and organizations that plan to apply for federal transportation funding must be part of the “public transit-human services transportation plan.”

This plan must be developed through a process that includes representatives from public, private, and nonprofit transportation services, human services providers, and the general public.
