Ex-county worker wins ruling

OTTAWA — A former Putnam County maintenance custodian has won sick pay in a small claims case against the commissioners in Putnam County Municipal Court.
Patricia Clementz, of Cloverdale, was awarded $2,665, which after deductions would result in the amount claimed of $1,917. The ruling was made by a visiting judge, John T. Rohrs III.
Clementz filed the claim against the Putnam County commissioners seeking sick pay after being discharged on Aug. 28, 2013.
Clementz had requested, with her doctor’s orders, a change in the description of her work duties because of certain disabilities, according to records in the commissioners’ office. The commissioners denied her request, stating she was unable to perform the essential job duties of her position.
