Spring is in the air and it’s time again to head to the heart of downtown Findlay for ArtWalk, to celebrate with art, music, food and entertainment.
On Friday, May 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Arts Partnership hosts this legendary event sponsored by First Federal Bank.
Downtown businesses will be open to showcase their spaces and services, and unique pieces of artwork by local, independent artists.
Every spring and autumn, downtown Findlay opens its doors to the public for a unique display of talent, hospitality and service. ArtWalk, a celebration of the arts and those that create it, has allowed local artists and downtown businesses and restaurants to form a connection that draws thousands of spectators to downtown, eager to see something new and exciting, and to also see what the downtown area has to offer.
In addition to strolling through individual businesses, participants can view unique pieces of art from local artists. Guests may also take advantage of special offers, sales, demonstrations and tastings that many businesses and restaurants offer for this event.
ArtWalk will celebrate the variety of studios in the downtown and will include: Black Swamp Studio, KanDu Studio, Findlay Art League, Gaslight Gallery, Awakening Minds Art, Rieck’s and the Jones Building Artist Studios.
The following local, independent artists will be featured in participating downtown businesses: Jacob Lindsey Photography, Rich Dobrzeniecki Photography & Glass, Eliseo Escobedo, Soggy Bottom Pottery and Sarah & John Gaberdiel. Official event guides will be provided and can be obtained at various downtown businesses on the evening of Artwalk.
In addition, the Findlay Art League will showcase its 66th annual May Show. A reception will be held during ArtWalk, with awards given at 7 p.m.
ArtWalk is a free event for the public. For more information, visit www.artspartnership.com or call 419-422-4624. The Arts Partnership is located at 618 S. Main St., Findlay. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
