Findlay teen dies in crash

A Findlay teenager was killed and another city teen was injured Wednesday night when a Jeep hit a deer and rolled over, just south of Findlay.
Nathan McKee, 17, the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported. McKee was wearing a seatbelt, but was ejected from the Jeep when it rolled, the sheriff’s office said.
Leon Lopez, 17, of Findlay, a passenger, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance, the sheriff’s office said. He also was wearing a seatbelt.
The sheriff’s office said McKee was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler south on Township 67, near Township 80 in Liberty Township, when he hit a deer about 8:57 p.m. McKee lost control of the Jeep, which went off the side of the road and rolled into a field, the sheriff’s office said.
The Jeep was heavily damaged and was towed. The crash remained under investigation early Thursday.
Assisting at the scene were the Liberty Township Fire Department and Dick’s Towing.
