Demolition of the former Elks building, a downtown Findlay landmark at 601 S. Main St., began Friday night and will continue today, Marathon Petroleum Corp. reported.
The former RCM Architects building, next door to the south, will be razed in 2015. Both buildings will be replaced by trees, green spaces and employee gathering areas.
The changes are part of Marathon Petroleum’s plans to add $80 million worth of downtown buildings — two office buildings, two parking garages, and possibly a hotel.
