Cyclist killed Sunday night

A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Findlay man at 6:59 p.m. Sunday on Marion Township 234, south of Marion Township 208, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Chase McGuire, 26, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office.
A sheriff’s office news release stated McGuire failed to negotiate a curve in the road.
His Suzuki Boulevard C50 went off the road, struck a drainage tile and went airborne before landing on the other side of the drainage tile, the sheriff’s office reported. The Suzuki then came to rest on the roadway.
The accident remained under investigation Sunday night.
Assisting at the scene were Vanlue Fire Department, Hanco Ambulance, LifeFlight and Dick’s Towing.
Sunday’s crash marked the fifth person killed on Hancock County and Findlay roadways this year.
In 2013, six people perished in local traffic accidents.
