Six people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
At 11:27 a.m. Jerica Henry, 19, of the Bloomdale area, was driving a 1995 Toyota Camery southbound on Township Road 229,
The sheriffs report Henry failed to control the vehicle, which drifted off the right side of the road. She over corrected, went off the left side of the road, down a deep drainage ditch and struck an embankment.
Her passengers, Deanne Thomas, 47; Max Thomas, 8; Kaylee Thomas, 7; Jaurie Henry, 14; and Jobe Henry, 11, all of the Bloomingdale area, all sustained injury and required medical attention, according to the sheriffs.
Four were transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS, and two of the juveniles were transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo by LifeFlight medical helicopter.
Allen Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation and no citations have been issued.
