The musical sounds of local volunteer groups have entertained area residents and visitors during the Riverside Summer Concert Series for over six generations.
The concerts are held at Findlay’s historic Riverside Park in the Allen P. Dudley Band Shell and Dick Daugherty Plaza.
The 2014 season begins Wednesday, June 11, with the musical sounds of Night Jazz. A total of 11 summer musical concerts will highlight a variety of local talent and invited guests throughout the summer months with performances starting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, with one exception Sunday, July 6.
Other Wednesday night concerts include: June 18 — Millstream Singers; June 25 — Fostoria Band; July 2, 9 and 16 — Findlay Civic Concert Band; 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6 — 122nd National Guard Band; July 23 — East of Cheyenne; July 30 — Pantasia Steel Drum Band; August 6 — Lima Beanes; and August 13 — Civic Jazz. August 20 will be a rain date in the event of a cancellation.
The community event is free.
Cooperation in producing the concert series has been provided by the City of Findlay Parks and Recreation Department, Hancock Parks Foundation, University of Findlay and the Hancock Park District. Sound engineering is provided by the House of Hindenach. WFIN radio personalities will be the master of ceremonies. In-kind support is provided by Dietsch Brothers.
Seating is provided at the Riverside Park band shell or you can bring your own chair or blanket. Concertgoers are reminded to arrive early for choice seating and parking.
In the event of inclement weather conditions, please listen to local media for last minute cancellations or alternate performance venues. Every effort is made to hold each concert.
