Six people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday morning, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office reported at 11:27 a.m. Jerica Henry, 19, of the Bloomdale area, was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry southbound on Township Road 229 when she failed to control the vehicle, which drifted off the right side of the road. She overcorrected, went off the left side of the road, down a deep drainage ditch and struck an embankment.
Her passengers, Deanne Thomas, 47; Max Thomas, 8; Kaylee Thomas, 7; Jaurie Henry, 14; and Jobe Henry, 11, all of the Bloomdale area, suffered injuries and required medical attention, according to the sheriff’s office.
Four were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS, and two of the juveniles were transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo by LifeFlight medical helicopter.
Allen Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation, and no citations have been issued.
