FOSTORIA — An early Monday morning blaze damaged a mobile home in the 800 block of Woodward Avenue.
According to Fostoria’s Interim Fire Chief Warren Digby, the fire at lot 64 in Williams’ Trailer Park was reported at 1:11 a.m. by witnesses who noticed that a section of the trailer was engulfed in flames.
Fire personnel were able to contain and extinguish the blaze within 10-15 minutes after arriving, according to Digby. Firefighters remained on the scene for about two hours.
According to Digby, residential damage was estimated at $12,500 with an additional $10,000 in content damages.
“The fire was contained to the living room but there was smoke damage throughout the trailer,” he said. “It’s a total loss.”
A resident, who Digby declined to identify, was not home when the fire broke out. The American Red Cross of Seneca County is providing temporary shelter, assistance for food and clothing, and a comfort kit of personal hygiene items for the resident, according to a news release.
