The driver of this tractor-trailer was injured in an accident on Interstate 75 near the U.S. 224 interchange in Findlay Tuesday night. The Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol reported a tractor-trailer driven by Andrew James Blandina, 52, of Warren, Michigan, was southbound on I-75 in the right lane of the construction zone at 7:33 p.m. when Blandina lost control of the truck, which struck the concrete barrier wall. After impact, the tractor-trailer traveled across the median and into the northbound lanes of I-75, the patrol reported. The truck rolled onto its side and slid into another concrete barrier wall. According to the patrol, the trailer came to rest on the hood of a Ford Fusion driven by Martha Proctor, 58, of Holly, Michigan, who had stopped her car in the right northbound lane in an attempt to avoid a collision with the truck. Blandina, who was trapped inside the cab, was extricated by mechanical means and taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Proctor and a passenger in her car were not injured. The accident backed up traffic in the northbound lanes of the interstate for several hours. The Findlay Police and Fire departments assisted at the scene. The investigation into the accident is continuing. (Photo by Brad Fenimore)
