TIFFIN (AP) — A power outage that knocked out electricity across much of Tiffin is being blamed on a bird’s nest fire.
City officials in the Seneca County city say power was restored around noon on Monday after the fire at an electricity substation.
The outage affecting traffic lights, homes and businesses in Tiffin lasted for a couple hours before crews made repairs to the substation.
Officials say the bird’s nest fire burned through a cable and set off a safety switch that shut down the power to more than 4,000 customers in Seneca County.
