Accident victim’s condition upgraded

TOLEDO — The University of Toledo Medical Center upgraded the condition of Nancy Moody-Russo to serious condition Thursday.
Moody-Russo, 68, a clinical coordinator of the physician assistant program at the University of Findlay, was critically injured in a car accident Wednesday afternoon in Erie County.
Her husband, prominent Hancock County attorney Ralph Russo, died in the crash. Funeral arrangements for Russo are pending at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home.
According to the State Highway Patrol, the one-car accident happened at 1:01 p.m. on U.S. 6. The patrol said Russo was driving his 2007 Lexus sport utility vehicle when it went across the center line and off the side of the road. The vehicle hit a mailbox, a road sign and two trees.
The patrol said the investigation into the cause of the accident will most likely take weeks to complete, pending a coroner’s ruling on Russo’s cause of death.
