The Findlay post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that state troopers will operate multiple sobriety checkpoints throughout the state later this week.
The county where the checkpoints will take place will be announced a day prior to the checkpoint, and the exact location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint, according to the patrol.
The checkpoints are used to deter and intercept impaired drivers. Support for the checkpoints will be provided by local law enforcement, according to the patrol.
If people plan on consuming alcohol, they are encouraged to designate a driver or make other travel arrangements beforehand, the patrol said.
