COLUMBUS — Two area restaurants took him trophies at the 2014 Ohio State Fair Pork Rib-Off this week.
Wally’s Great American BBQ received the People’s Choice Award, while Tony’s Restaurant was named the reserve grand champion for ribs.
The 18th annual Pork Rib-off included seven restaurants, which prepared both ribs and pulled pork. They were judged by a five-member celebrity panel, while fairgoers cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award.
Wally’s Great American BBQ has been served at Dell’s Restaurant in downtown Fostoria since 2010. The barbecue business is co-owned by Wally Snow and Pat Brady, who is also the owner of Dell’s.
Tony’s Restaurant has been located at 10280 U.S. 224 in Findlay since 2002. Prior to that, the restaurant operated in McComb.
Both Wally’s and Tony’s have brought home a number of trophies from past Ohio State Fairs.
