Three teenagers were injured in a three-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon on U.S. 224, just east of Findlay.
Kendra Konecny, 16, of Findlay, Saffron Florea, 17, of Tiffin, and Olivia Fenton, 16, of Findlay, were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital following the 4 p.m. accident, Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Heckman said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Konecny, who was driving a Honda Civic, turned west onto U.S. 224 from Marion Township 237 and then slowed to make a left turn. Alexander McKee, 34, of Findlay, slowed his westbound Ford E-350 to a stop on U.S. 224 behind the Konecny vehicle, Heckman said, when the van was struck from behind by a Chrysler Sebring driven by Florea. The impact caused McKee’s van to hit the back of Konecny’s car, he said.
Fenton was a passenger in Florea’s vehicle, the deputy said.
The crash remains under investigation. Assisting were Hanco Ambulance, Washington Township Fire Department, Lowery’s Towing and R&A Towing.
