BG welcoming back National Tractor Pull

BOWLING GREEN — Mid-August is a busy time in Bowling Green. Not only are university students returning to campus for a new semester, but one of the premier events of the National Tractor Pullers Association arrives each year.

The National Tractor Pulling Championship returns to the Wood County Fairgrounds this weekend, Friday through Sunday. It features tractor and truck pulls in 12 classifications.

The first session begins at 1 p.m. Friday. The event concludes Sunday with pulls beginning at noon.

The championship, in its 48th year, was named the Super National Pull of the Year at the 2013 National Tractor Pullers Association awards banquet in Columbus in December.

Advance tickets are available at most northwestern Ohio Kroger stores. They are also available online at https://www.pulltown.com/tickets.asp.

Ticket prices are higher at the gate.

An advance ticket for all of Friday’s competition costs $40. At the gate, the ticket price will be $44. Children 10 and under are admitted free.
