Two Michigan residents were injured Friday when their motorcycle overturned at an Interstate 75 rest area in Hancock County.
John Sedlack, 50, of Owosso, Michigan, the motorcycle driver, and his passenger, Julie Edick, 59, of Flint, Michigan, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol reported. They were taken by Hanco Ambulance to Blanchard Valley Hospital, the patrol said.
The patrol said Sedlack was entering the northbound rest area, south of Findlay, about 5:30 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle as he attempted to negotiate a curve from the off ramp to the rest area parking lot. The motorcycle overturned, and both Sedlack and Edick were ejected, the patrol said.
Both were wearing helmets.
Sedlack was cited for failure to control, the patrol said.
Assisting at the accident scene were Mount Cory Fire Department and R&A Towing.
