Change order for garage project OK’d

The Hancock County commissioners on Tuesday approved a $15,740 change order to its contract with Studer-Obringer Inc., New Washington. The additional amount brings the cost of constructing the county’s new maintenance garage, 1900 Lima Ave., to $2.8 million.
An additional $6,170 was needed for the installation of a service pit pump. The company also installed a fire pump floor drain for $4,848. There was also a $4,722 markup on a previous change order.
Last month, the county commissioners approved a $75,740 change order from Studer-Obringer.
At that the time, the company said it was the final change order on the project.
Early last year, Studer-Obringer was awarded a $2.7 million contract to build the garage.
