RAWSON — A Monday night fire destroyed a barn at 7477 Hancock County 37, Rawson Fire Chief Eric Wilkins reports.
The fire, east of Rawson, was reported at 10:56 p.m., and the barn was “fully involved” when Rawson and Jenera firefighters arrived, Wilkins said.
Mount Cory, Bluffton and Allen Township firefighters helped battle the blaze.
Wilkins said 25 firefighters and six trucks were at the scene, and the last firefighters left after 3:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined, Wilkins said. The barn, owned by John Schimmoeller, contained straw, an old truck, and tools, Wilkins said.
Schimmoeller is insured. A damage estimate had not been completed Tuesday.
