Blanchard Valley Hospital was recently named one of the nation’s 100 top hospitals by Truven Health Analytics, part of the IBM Watson Health business.
This is the fifth time the hospital has been recognized with this honor.
Truven Health Analytics identified the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on the overall organizational performance by over 3,000 hospitals.
The study found that the top-performing hospitals in the country were able to improve outcomes while reducing overall expense per patient.
Blanchard Valley was one of four hospitals in the state recognized as one of the Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals in the overall 100 Top category.
Blanchard Valley Hospital was one of 20 hospitals in the nation for medium-sized hospitals.
The study found the top-performing hospitals in the country had lower 30-day mortality and readmission rates, fewer complications and higher survival rates, while maintaining 3 percent lower inpatient costs per beneficiary than non-winning peer group hospitals.
