A fourth Hancock County military veteran, Gerald C. Crouch, U.S. Air Force, will be honored during the 30th annual Armed Forces Day awards presentation at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Crouch joined the Air Force on Oct. 14, 1964, and completed basic training before being ordered to Beale Air Force Base in Marysville, California. He ran the on-the-job training program at Beale until 1967, when he received orders to report to the Udorn Air Force Base in Thailand. Crouch returned to California in 1968 and was honorably discharged in October 1968.
Crouch’s military awards include Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Three other veterans also will be honored Saturday. Their biographical information was included in a story Thursday about the Armed Forces Day event.
