Area universities ranked in U.S. News and World Report

Ohio Northern University received high marks in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 Best Colleges Rankings, released Tuesday, placing fourth among Midwest regional colleges rankings.

Joining ONU on the best Midwest regional colleges rankings was Bluffton University, which placed 27th. The top-rated Midwest college was Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

In a separate rankings list, among schools considered as Midwest regional universities, the University of Findlay placed 38th; Heidelberg University in Tiffin placed 60th; and Tiffin University placed 93rd. Findlay’s ranking rose from 56th last year.

Top-ranked on the regional universities list was Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, while Xavier University took top honors among Ohio schools, placing fifth on the list.

Bowling Green State University placed 202nd among schools considered national universities. Princeton University took the top spot, and Case Western Reserve University placed highest among Ohio schools at 37th.
