Two hurt in Saturday crash

Two drivers were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital Saturday after a three-vehicle accident in Marion Township, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Thelma Sparks, 89, of Lebanon, was driving south on Township Road 212 in a Chevrolet Impala and stopped at a stop sign before proceeding into the intersection of Township Road 212 and Ohio 12. She drove into the path of a westbound Mercury Milan driven by Addie Moore, 76, of Fostoria, according to the sheriff’s office.

Their vehicles collided and Moore’s vehicle spun into a Ford Fusion driven by Victoria Wurm, 29, of Perrysburg. Sparks’s Impala went off the road and hit a utility pole.

The accident occurred at 4:36 p.m.

Sparks and Moore were taken to the hospital by Hanco Emergency Medical Service, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office cited Sparks for failure to yield at an intersection.

Assisting at the scene was the Washington Township Fire Department.
