Local business gets grant

Findlay Machine & Tool is among 40 Ohio employers that will share more than $993,000 in grants from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

The grants are being awarded “to purchase equipment designed to substantially reduce or eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses,” according to the bureau.

Findlay Machine & Tool’s grant is for $40,000 to purchase an automatic magazine bar loader, the bureau said.

The bar loader will “reduce the risk of hands, wrist, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, moderate vibration, and manual materials handling” in the lathe process, the bureau said.

Findlay Machine & Tool, located at 2000 Industrial Drive, specializes in the manufacture of custom-engineered parts for cleaning systems, as well as a variety of fabrication, electrical, mechanical, and machining services.
