Three injured in Tuesday night accident

Three Findlay residents were injured in a car-pickup truck collision Tuesday night at the intersection of Hancock County 313 and Hancock County 9, at the southwest edge of Findlay, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital were Emily Spence, 21, the driver of the car; Gary Ruppright, 72, the driver of the pickup; and Nancy Ruppright, a passenger in the pickup, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, Spence was driving a 2012 Kia Forte north on County Road 9 about 9:17 p.m. when she failed to stop at the stop sign at County Road 313. She hit a 2016 Ford F150 driven by Gary Ruppright, who was westbound on County 313, the sheriff’s office said.

The truck then traveled 176 feet off the north side of the road and struck a fence.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday night.

Liberty Township Fire Department, Hanco EMS, B&G Towing and Dick’s Towing assisted at the accident scene.
