The case of a 28-year-old Findlay woman who was found dead on Sunday is being treated as a murder by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office until deputies can confirm it is not, Sheriff Mike Heldman said Wednesday.
Danielle Rice’s body was found early Sunday afternoon in two plastic garbage bags in a ditch along Cass Township 215, between Hancock County 18 and Hancock County 236, north of Findlay.
Heldman said his office is following up on tips.
Results of an autopsy are not yet available.
Rice was the mother of two children, Heldman said.
“We need the help of the public as much as possible” in solving the case, the sheriff said.
Heldman encouraged anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 419-424-7097.
Obituary information for Rice appears on Page A5 of today’s Courier.
