McCOMB — The McComb community pool will be filled with water Friday, Village Council learned Monday.

New caulking has been added at the swimming pool, and the facility will be painted this week, according to Village Administrator Kevin Siferd.

“We have plenty of lifeguards for now,” Siferd reported.

Also, security cameras have been added to the pool and other areas of the park, the administrator said.

Council may consider adding more security cameras next year near the ball diamonds.

Councilwoman Carol Cary said some out-of-town juveniles caused damage to fencing and a new swing for handicapped children at the park.

In other matters, 10 letters will be sent to property owners with lawns that need mowing, along with four letters to violators who pushed cut grass into the street.

In other affairs, waterlines will be replaced next Monday, weather permitting, in the vicinity of Merrimont and the village park.

In other business, council:

  • Swore in two new full-time officers, Jason Kottenbrock and Joshua Bortel. Officer Aaron Crawford was promoted to sergeant.
  • Noted that the next council meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. June 11 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
