Hancock County commissioners OK residential subdivision plans

Hancock County commissioners on Tuesday signed off on plans for the Somerset Park 4th Addition residential subdivision on Hancock County 95.

Separately, a “viewing” of a Western Meadows Subdivision drainage project will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the county engineer’s conference room off Lima Avenue. Public comments will not be taken Thursday. A hearing will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 4 for public comments.

A June 5 hearing was held on a petition requesting installation of a drainage outlet in the subdivision between Hancock County 88 and Ohio 12.

A request at that hearing to extend the line down Hancock County 88, or West Sandusky Street, changed the original plans and meant the hearing process had to begin again.

That prompted the need for the viewing this week and the September hearing.

Property owners would be assessed for the improvements, meant to improve drainage and reduce flooding in the area during heavy rains.

Separately, the commissioners held an executive session to discuss personnel issues. No action was taken.
