Girls Basketball: FHS Trojans fall to Lima Shawnee

Lima Shawnee showed plenty of depth Saturday as 10 players scored in the Indians’ 61-41 nonconference girls basketball win over Findlay.
Findlay (1-8) fell behind 20-11 in the first quarter and 34-19 by halftime against the Indians.
Still struggling to score points, Findlay High coach Connie Lyon is taking a positive approach with her ballclub.
“We just have to persevere and take the positives from each game. One of those positives is that we were much better at the line today and we closed the rebounding gap a bit,” Lyon said.
“We’re looking forward and not looking back. We’re looking forward to the next practice and the next game and trying to get better every day.”
Jenny Vielhaber scored 14 points and Abby Smarkel dished out five assists for the Trojans, who were 14 of 14 from the free-throw line.
Isabelle Baird and Rachel Evans both scored 10 points for Lima Shawnee (4-7).
