Prep Football: Findlay High, Parker earn academic All-Ohio honors

Findlay High School’s football team and Mohawk’s Mitch Parker were honored as the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association released its Academic All-Ohio Football Teams for the 2013 season.
Findlay High was one of the schools honored with the All-Ohio team award as the Trojans ranked 44th overall among the state’s football programs in grade point average.
The teams are selected based on the combined GPAs of the top 22 academic players on the team that have earned a varsity letter.
Parker was the only area player to make the individual All-Ohio Academic list.
He was one of only 106 student-athletes from the more than 35,000 players throughout Ohio were recognized for the award. To qualify, the honoree must be first team all-conference, all-county or all district in combination with an exemplary academic performance.
