Girls Basketball: Clymer gets to 1,000 in McComb victory

McCOMB — A mid-range bank shot with 5:40 to play gave Emily Clymer 25 points for the game and exactly 1,000 points for her career as the McComb senior led the Panthers to a 62-35 nonleague girls basketball win over Miller City on Tuesday.
Clymer, a returning first-team all-Blanchard Valley Conference selection, also grabbed 10 rebounds in completing her milestone night with a double-double.
Brenna Dee scored 14 points and freshman Nora Hemminger had 11 for the Panthers, who blitzed Miller City 37-10 in the first half and capitalized on 28 turnovers in improving to 9-5.
Junior center Haley Lammers led Miller City with 13 points. Cassie Niese added eight points for the Wildcats (1-11).
