Girls Basketball: Elmwood drops Old Fort

OLD FORT — Samantha Ervin and Kristen Curtis combined for 34 points and 13 rebounds Tuesday as Elmwood overcame deficits after each of the first three periods to beat Old Fort 51-43 in nonconference girls basketball.
Ervin finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Curtis matched Ervin with 17 points and added five rebounds.
Courtney Emmitt had four steals for the Royals (8-4).
Old Fort (10-3), which was led by Peyton Miller’s nine points and six rebounds from Jordan Magers, led 9-5 after the first period, 19-14 at halftime and 36-34 after the third before Elmwood went on a 17-7 run down the stretch.
