Girls basketball: Liberty-Benton wins 13th straight

KALIDA — Rachel Myers poured in 21 points and Nicolette DeVincentis added 13 as Liberty-Benton cruised past Kalida 64-39 in a nonconference matchup Monday night.
The Eagles, who improved to 13-1, outscored the Wildcats 38-15 in the final two quarters to break open a 26-24 game at halftime.
Liberty-Benton shot 55.6 percent (20 of 36) from the field and were 75 percent (9 of 12) from the foul line.
Lauren Kotey recorded 10 points and eight rebounds, Jensen Hiegel notched nine points, three assists and two steals, and Carrie Reynolds handed out four assists for the Eagles.
Kalida (6-10) was led by Brittany Kahle and Allison Recker, who each netted seven points, while Nicole Recker dished out three assists.

FORT JENNINGS — Columbus Grove got 15 points and nine rebounds from Julia Wynn and outscored Fort Jennings 32-14 in the first half en route to a 63-41 Putnam County League victory Monday night.
The Bulldogs (11-5, 4-2 PCL) outrebounded the Musketeers 30-20 and forced 18 turnovers in the game.
Fort Jennings shot 41 percent (9 of 22) from the foul line.
Lynea Diller chipped in 12 points, Jade Clement added 11 points, Sammi Stechschulte grabbed nine rebounds and Kyrah Yinger handed out six assists for Columbus Grove.
The Musketeers (2-15, 0-5 PCL) were led by Kylie Jettinghoff’s 13 points and Cassie Lindeman finished with nine points.

ADA — Lindsay Walden’s 19 points led four Ada scorers in double figures Monday night as the Bulldogs downed Lima Perry 66-47 in nonleague action.
Ada (6-8) built a 36-15 halftime lead and increased the advantage to 59-31 after three quarters.
The Bulldogs also made 89 percent (17 of 19) of their free-throw attempts.
Alexis Amburgey and Tori Wyss each finished with 12 points and Sidney Faine added 11 for Ada.
Lexis Davis led all scorers with 24 points for the Commodores (2-13).
