Prep Hockey: Bowling Green stops FHS in OT

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green High School’s Philip Rich knocked in the game winning goal 13 seconds into overtime Tuesday night as the Bobcats edged Findlay 6-5 in a Northwest Hockey Conference matchup.
Findlay held a 2-1 advantage after one period thanks to two goals by Noah Hindall, but gave up three goals to Bowling Green in a 3-minute span of the second period.
Adam Furnas scored unassisted at 11:15 of the second, Connor Scenn and Grant DeWitt assisted on Jeremy Chambers’ goal just 14 seconds later and Keegan O’Brien hit DeWitt for a 5-on-3 goal at 13:32 to put the Bobcats up 4-2 heading into the third period.
A.J. Bishop’s unassisted power-play goal 13 seconds into the third period brought the Trojans within 4-3, Justin May found the net on a penalty shot at 2:07 of the third to tie it up and Brandon Armstrong put Findlay ahead 5-4 at 9:05 on an assist from Connor Curlis.
DeWitt scored unassisted at 12:53 to tie it at 5-all.
Tanner Fausnaugh made 21 saves on 27 shots for Bowling Green, while Findlay goalie Joe Long stopped 20 of 27 shots.
