Prep Basketball: Twining 1st team all-TRAC

Twining

Findlay High School senior Adam Twining landed a spot on the first team as the Three Rivers Athletic Conference released its all-conference boys and girls basketball selections for the 2013-14 season.
Twining, also a special mention all-Ohio selection in Division I, led the Trojans to a 17-6 overall record while averaging 15.6 points, 6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. The 6-foot-3 senior wing scored over 700 points in his varsity career.
Seniors Austin Gutting (12.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and Michael Clark (9.4 ppg, 4.7 apg) were second team all-TRAC selections. Gutting finished his career with over 800 points, while Clark set school records for career assists and games played.
FHS senior Braden Miller (4.8 ppg, 43 steals) and junior Grant Niswander (6.5 ppg, 35 steals) made the honorable mention all-TRAC list for the Trojans.
TRAC champ Toledo Central Catholic swept the top awards. DeShone Kizer was named the league’s player of the year while Jim Welling was tabbed coach of the year.
In the all-TRAC girls basketball awards, Lima Senior’s Indiya Benjamin earned the TRAC Player of the Year award while Oregon Clay’s Corey Slovak was named the conference’s coach of the year.
Findlay’s Jacey Hardesty and Sarah Thomas made the TRAC honorable mention list.
