College Softball: Ohio Dominican sweeps Oilers

COLUMBUS — Ohio Dominican’s Rachael Stanzel and Brandis Fishel each pitched complete games and picked up wins as the Panthers swept a doubleheader with the University of Findlay 4-2 in each game Friday at Panther Field in Columbus in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball action.
Megan Turner’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning of the first game drove home the only runs in the game for Findlay (8-5, 2-2 GLIAC). Tawna Whited (7-1) pitched a complete game for the Oilers, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
The Panthers (8-18, 2-2 GLIAC) used a three-run second inning in the second game to take a 4-2 lead that would stand the rest of the way. Findlay committed three of its six errors in the second inning of the second game. Nicole Motuza (0-3) allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits.
