MOUNT BLANCHARD — Satchel Strahm went the distance on the mound for Carey, allowing three runs on five hits, and the Blue Devils downed Riverdale 6-3 in a nonconference matchup on Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (1-2) had a 6-0 lead through the top half of the sixth inning and held on despite the Falcons scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Paul Frey had a two-run double for Riverdale (0-2) and allowed one earned run on two hits, while striking out nine in five innings to pick up the loss.

FOSTORIA — Pandora-Gilboa exploded for 21 runs on 21 hits and demolished Fostoria St. Wendelin 21-2 in five innings in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday.
Alex Osborn lead the Rockets (2-0) at the plate with three doubles, a single and six RBIs. Jacob Basinger ripped three singles and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits, struck out six in three innings pitched and picked up his first win of the season.
Cyle Smith had a two-run single in the first inning for Fostoria St. Wendelin (0-2).

McGUFFEY — Bluffton led just 2-0 after three innings, then needed an offensive barrage over the final four innings to outslug Upper Scioto Valley 15-9 in a nonleague baseball matchup.
Drake Luginbuhl drove in three runs with three base hits and Brett Rumer had a pair of RBI singles as Bluffton remained unbeaten at 3-0. Braden Skilliter (2-1B, 2B) added three hits for Bluffton, while Chance Watkins (2-2B, 1B) had three for USV (1-1).

NEW WASHINGTON — New Riegel’s Michael Kirian struck out 10 batters and allowed just one hit in five innings as the Blue Jackets picked up their first win of the season by run-ruling Buckeye Central 10-0 in five innings in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday.
Austin Mathias had four of New Riegel’s 12 hits: a double and three singles. He also drove in four runs and scored four times.

RIDGEWAY — Vanlue’s Jacob Coldren delivered a clutch RBI single in the top of the seventh inning and Nick Hagerty got out of a two-out, two-on jam in the bottom of the innings as the Wildcats opened their 2014 baseball season on Wednesday with a 4-3 nonleague win over Ridgemont.
Austin Smith’s two-run single highlighted a three-run second inning for Vanlue, but Ridgemont rallied to tie the game in the fifth.
Sam Wagner then doubled leading off the seventh, took third on Hagerty’s base hit and raced home on Coldren’s infield single.
Hagerty allowed just two hits and struck out eight in getting the win.

ARCADIA — Arcadia sophomore Garrett Enders picked up his first career win by allowing just three hits in seven scoreless innings as the Redskins blanked Old Fort 7-0 in nonleague baseball action Wednesday.
Sawyer Kieffer scored three runs and stole three bases for Arcadia (1-1), which had just three hits of its own.
Dylan Conine had a double and scored as well for the Redskins.

FOSTORIA — Unbeaten Gibsonburg scored five runs in the top of the sixth to get past Fostoria High School 9-6 Wednesday in nonconference play at Grant Jackson Field.
Andrew Cantrell had a double and a single and Gabe Hickman hit two singles for the Golden Bears (3-0).
Derek Angelone earned the win on the mound.
The Redmen (1-1) outhit Gibsonburg 8-5 but were done in by 10 errors as Trey Yates took the loss.
Hunter Abell hit a double and a single, while Chris Hampton and Rob Crotty each had a pair of singles for Fostoria.

DOLA — Dephos Jefferson had eight hits — only one for extra bases — but the Wildcats took advantage of 14 walks and three Hardin Northern errors to run-rule the Polar Bears 15-2 in a nonlegaue baseball matchup on Wednesday.
Jace Stockwell had a pair of RBI singles and Jordan Jettinghoff tripled in a run for Delphos Jefferson (2-0). Brett Roby drove in both runs for Hardin Northern (0-2) with a third-inning double.

MILLBURY — Lake jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings, added three runs in the fourth and knocked off North Baltimore 10-3 in nonleague baseball action Wednesday.
North Baltimore (1-1) stranded 10 base runners and grounded into two double plays with the bases loaded each time.
Brock Boyer doubled and singled for the Tigers, while Connor Bowen led the Flyers (1-1) with three singles.
