UF athletics: Wayne St. sweeps UF baseball, softball teams

The University of Findlay bats remained quiet on Wednesday when the Oilers dropped a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader to Wayne State.
Cameron Walker’s third hit of the game, a two-run triple, sparked a three-run fifth-inning rally in Wayne State’s 5-2 win in the opener at Fifth Third Field. Wayne State pitchers Chris Horvath (51/3 innings) and Jimmy Jackson then limited UF to a single base hit in the Wldcats’ 6-2 victory in game two.
Tyler Donaldson belted a two-run home run for Findlay’s only runs in the first game. UF, which has managed just 28 hits and scored 10 total runs during a current six-game losing streak, got its two runs in the nightcap on a bases-loaded walk to Reid Rothenbuhler and Derek Draper’s fielders choice grounder.
Wayne State improved to 22-9 overall and 10-5 in GLIAC play. Findlay fell to 8-18, 5-11 in the league.
